A dirty air filter can damage your vehicle, so it's important to change it regularly. Every six months to a year should be enough to keep your vehicle running smoothly.
Driving without an air filter can cause serious damage to your vehicle, including poor fuel consumption, loss of power and engine failure.
The air filter is most commonly located under the bonnet of the car, in the front engine compartment. It should be easy to remove the air filter to replace it; a screwdriver and replacement is usually all you need.
Not all air filters can be reused, so make sure to check the owners manual before washing your air filter. Be careful to check which products are safe to use on each type of filter as well, so you avoid damaging the part.
