Performance Catalysts

In a catalytic converter, there are two types of car performance catalysts - the reduction catalyst and the oxidisation catalyst. The reduction catalyst helps to reduce harmful emissions by removing the nitrogen atoms from gases, leaving as much oxygen as possible. The other car performance catalyst, the oxidisation catalyst, reduces unburned hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide by burning them over a platinum and palladium catalyst.
