Coil Over Kits have become increasing coming on the tuning scene for car owners who want the ultimate in handling and their cars as low as possible. There is a huge choice kits available from just a few hundred pounds up to several thousand, but you do to a certain extend you do get what you pay for. The main reason for fitting a coil over suspension kit for most people is the ability to lower their cars extreme amounts, this adjustability comes from the shock absorber having a threaded shaft on to which there is a platform that the specially designed springs seat, this platform can then be raised or lowered as required. Some application do have limitations because of the nature of the standard suspension and it is not always possible to have height adjustment on both axles. The more expensive kits would also give you the ability to adjust the dampening settings of the suspension kit, either by a manual adjustment on the shock absorber or in some cases electronically from the cars dashboard.
