Performance brake pads are the first step to improve your cars braking performance. Fitting couldn't be simpler as these pads are designed as a direct replacement for the original parts, the main change is the friction material which is what determines the pad's stopping power.
Depending on your cars weight and power and your own driving style, each can affect what type of pad is best for you. Manufactures like EBC have a range of different compounds available such as green stuff for hot hatches, red stuff for heavier, higher powered cars, through to yellow stuff for very high performance cars and for use on the track. Another advantage of some up-rated pads, apart from making you brake quicker and safer, is that they can reduce the amount of brake dust, keeping your wheels cleaner. When buying up-rated brakes pads it is important to choose a pad that is Reg. 90 approved making it legal for road use.
