Most modern cars feature power steering – it’s a feature that enables you to turn the car more easily, making the steering wheel more responsive. To keep this function working as it should, you’ll need to keep on content of your power steering fluid levels. Browse the range of steering fluid we have available below.
What are the signs of needing power steering fluid?
Power steering fluid helps lubricate the power steering pump, so an obvious sign of wear is if the wheel feels tough to turn. Loud and unusual sounds coming from the steering wheel are also an indicator of low fluid levels.
Does it matter what power steering fluid you put in?
Not all power steering is universal, so we recommend checking the details of the brand you are buying, as well as the recommended fluid for the make and model of your car.
How do you put power steering fluid in?
The power steering reservoir is located near the engine and can be topped up to the max line in small increments. Make sure the engine is off and cooled down when you do this.
How long does power steering fluid last?
Unlike engine oil and windscreen fluid, power steering fluid doesn't have to be topped up very often. It will usually last a couple of years, or between 50,000 and 75,000 miles.
