A spigot bearing clutch sits in the centre of the gearbox flywheel or crankshaft flange. The bearing type can be a ball, roller or needle, packed in grease. The gearbox input shaft and the engine’s crankshaft rotate at different speeds when you engage your clutch pedal. The input shaft therefore needs support to cope with this difference.
