Boot Struts, Bonnet Struts & Tailgate Struts

Bonnet struts are the rods used to support your bonnet while you’re working on the engine, and tailgate struts are the small supports responsible for the smooth opening of your boot. We stock a range of sturdy struts for all types of car.

Bonnet and tailgate struts slacken over time and should be replaced every three to five years. It’s worth investing in the best quality replacement struts as cheap products occasionally slip out of place – and you certainly don’t want the bonnet dropping on your head the next time you go to check the oil! Replacing bonnet or tailgate struts is a very simply DIY job, requiring only a flat-blade screwdriver to unclip the old strut from its mounting points. Once you have removed the old strut, you simply have to press the clips on the new strut into both mounting points. Make sure you select the right struts for your car – they are usually specific to the individual model. Both bonnet and tailgate struts usually come in twos, and should be replaced as pairs to ensure even wear.
